About Us
Dodge’s Sugar Shack is rooted in family, tradition, and the simple joy of turning nature’s gifts into something sweet. For owner Jeff Dodge, maple sugaring began as a teenager with just 14 taps, a handful of spouts and buckets gifted by his grandfather, and a brick fireplace he built with his father. When the sap was nearly ready, his mother would finish the syrup in the kitchen. They didn’t make much but it was theirs, and it felt like magic.
Life moved on through college, marriage, and raising three kids, but the love of sugaring never left. In 2011, Jeff returned to it with renewed passion and a bigger vision. Dodge’s Sugar Shack officially became an LLC, funded at first by summers spent mowing lawns just to earn enough to buy sugaring equipment. What started with 200 taps has grown into 2,900 taps, a thriving operation surrounded by New Hampshire woods and supported by longtime friends Greg and David, who help bring the season to life each year.
In 2024, Dodge’s Sugar Shack celebrated its best season yet with 850 gallons of pure maple syrup, handcrafted with care in every batch. Today, Jeff proudly sells syrup right from the home property, and you’ll often find him at local craft fairs with his maple display table. A handful of nearby retail stores also carry Dodge’s Sugar Shack syrup, helping share this handcrafted New Hampshire sweetness with even more families.
At Dodge’s Sugar Shack, every bottle tells a story, one that started with a few buckets, a brick fireplace, and a dream.
