From the Sugarhouse
A Note from Jeff...
It’s hard to believe we’re already halfway through the year. I wanted to take a moment to share a few updates from Dodge’s Sugar Shack.
First, I’d like to thank all of our customers for their continued support. Our sales are currently ahead of last year, which has been a pleasant surprise given today’s economic climate. I believe that speaks to the quality of our maple syrup and the loyalty of the people who enjoy it. If you haven’t tried our syrup yet, we hope you’ll give it a taste.
Fair season is just around the corner, and we’re looking forward to seeing many of you in person. This year, we’ll be attending:
- North Haverhill Fair – July 22-26
- Lancaster Fair – September 3-7
- Deerfield Fair – October 1-4
Stop by and say hello if you’re attending any of these events.
We’re also busy working in the woods to improve our maple operation. In Sugar Hill, we’re adding approximately 1,500 feet of mainline to help move sap more efficiently from the trees to the gathering tank. Later this fall, we may also make improvements to the pump house.
Over in Lyman, we’ll be expanding portions of our tubing system by adding new mainlines and replacing some of the lateral lines. Our goal is to shorten the distance sap travels and reduce the number of taps on each line, helping sap flow more efficiently to the pump house.
As always, we’re looking for ways to improve the operation while continuing to produce the highest-quality maple syrup possible.
I hope everyone enjoys the rest of the summer. Before long, the leaves will be changing, and we’ll be preparing for another maple season.
Thanks again for your support.

Looking Back: Our 2026 Maple Sugaring Season
The taps are pulled, the fires are out, and another incredible maple season has come to a close here at Dodge’s Sugar Shack.
By the end of the season, we collected an incredible 36,000 gallons of sap and produced 625 gallons of pure maple syrup, a rewarding finish to a busy and productive year in the sugarhouse.
Our woods were alive with the quiet rhythm of sugaring season, from freshly tapped maple trees steadily filling the sap lines, to the sweet steam rising from the evaporator as sap was carefully boiled down into rich, golden maple syrup.
Below, take a look back at the season in action — from the forest to the sugarhouse — with videos and photos captured throughout this year’s harvest.
